Students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are getting experience in cutting-edge public relations techniques through the Carolina Observatory on Corporate Reputation. Utilizing resources not often available to undergraduates, these students are gaining first-hand knowledge about media monitoring and reputation analysis. | Marianna King Senior Editor Marianna King is a senior public relations major in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UNC-CH with a minor in English. She is the current Carolina OCR senior editor and coordinates content development for the research group. Before OCR, she spent two years as chair of public relations for Rival magazine, a joint student publication at UNC and Duke. She spent last summer as an intern with Capstrat in Raleigh, N.C. Marianna is from Greenville, N.C., and loves Carolina basketball. | | | |  | Joshua Criscoe Production Coordinator Joshua Criscoe is a senior communication studies major at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. From Oak Island, N.C., his work with the OCR focuses on data management. Josh manages the OCR website and is a research assistant for Dr. Craig Carroll. He has gained experience coordinating public relations for the Campus Y, the largest service organization on the UNC campus, and has done extensive work with Key Club International. Josh's interests lie in crisis managment and corporate branding. | | | |  | Stephanie Nobles Historian Stephanie Nobles is a senior journalism major at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A native of Kinston, N.C., she joined the Carolina OCR to explore interests in major companies in her home state and also the effectiveness of current PR tactics in the business world. After graduation, she plans to seek a job with a non-profit organization in N.C.'s triangle area. Outside of the classroom, Stephanie enjoys working and volunteering at her local church, spending time with friends, going to the beach, singing 80's music and organizing anything and everything. | | | |  | Ariel Cochrane-Brown Events Coordinator Ariel Cochrane-Brown is a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication Studies. Originally from upstate New York, Cochrane-Brown fell in love with the University after moving to Cary, N.C. in 1992. Ariel is an active participant in several clubs and organizations on campus such as Public Service Scholars, Jackson Ambassadors, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. As she lives out her dream of being a true Tar Heel, Cochrane-Brown aspires to attain a career in public relations. |
